Preview: Owatonna Huskies vs. Austin Packers
Owatonna is 2-8 against Austin since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Owatonna Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Austin Packers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Owatonna has not done well against Red Wing recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Owatonna came out on top against Red Wing by a score of 60-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Owatonna.
Owatonna can attribute much of their success to Carsyn Brady, who scored 16 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Maryn Pool, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Austin had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their match on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 73-21 win over Albert Lea. The win was just what Austin needed coming off of a 76-35 defeat in their prior game.
Owatonna now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Austin, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Owatonna came up short against Austin in their previous matchup back in February, falling 64-53. Can Owatonna avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
