Basketball Recap: Nicollet Comes Up Short

After flying high against Loyola last Monday, Nicollet came back down to earth. The Nicollet Raiders lost 71-47 to the Martin County West Mavericks on Friday. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Nicollet moved to 5-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Martin County West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Nicollet will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Medford at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Nicollet is facing Medford at the right time seeing as Medford is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Martin County West and Windom will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. One thing working in Windom's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
