Soccer Game Preview: White Knoll vs. Midland Valley

The White Knoll Timberwolves will take on the Midland Valley Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. White Knoll has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 12.

White Knoll fell victim to Chapin and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 4-0 to the Eagles. While losing is never fun, White Knoll can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Chapin are ranked fourth).

Midland Valley hadn't beaten Aiken on the road since March 12, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Mustangs who were credited with the win. Midland Valley got it done in the shootout by posting two goals to Aiken's one.

Imber Torres and Alex Bautista scored both of the Mustangs' goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Midland Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for White Knoll, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

White Knoll was able to grind out a solid win over Midland Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Timberwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
