Basketball Recap: Kamelia Hunter Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Southside

There's no place like home for Calhoun, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 39-29 victory over the Southside Panthers on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-17 back in December of 2024.

Calhoun's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kamelia Hunter led the charge by putting up 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards Hunter has posted since back in February of 2024. Alivia Mason was another key player, scoring eight points and seven steals.

Calhoun's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-14. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for Southside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

Calhoun does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southside has already played their next contest (against Wilcox Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
