Basketball Recap: Nicole Zelinko Key Part of Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

St. Charles won the last time they faced Fulton and things went their way on Wednesday too. The St. Charles Bulldogs came out on top against the Fulton Pirates by a score of 40-31.

St. Charles' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nicole Zelinko led the charge by going 5-for-8 to rack up 11 points along with six steals and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, Zelinko now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Harger, who posted ten points and four steals.

St. Charles is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Fulton, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

St. Charles and Fulton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. St. Charles (ranked 213th) will meet Vestaburg (ranked 545th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Charles is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. Similarly, Fulton will face off against Coleman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 330 places (316 vs. 646).
