Countryside benefitted from Powell in 7-2 win
Coe Powell produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Countryside to the win on Wednesday. Lakewood had no answer to Powell as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk).
Powell and Countryside will stay at home for another game and welcome Clearwater at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Powell has dominated as far as walks are concerned (he's averaged 0.3 per game this season), but he's got his work cut out for him considering Clearwater has only allowed 3.83 per game this season.
