Softball Recap: Hackett Catholic Prep Victorious

Hackett Catholic Prep posted their closest victory since April 29, 2025 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Tekonsha Indians. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fighting Irish.

Avery Doerr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Paige Zeigler was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Alexa Rosell was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Hackett Catholic Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hackett Catholic Prep's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Tekonsha, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hackett Catholic Prep will welcome White Pigeon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tekonsha, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Maple Valley at 4:30 p.m.
