Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission East Has No Trouble Against Lawrence Free State + How To Watch

Shawnee Mission East hadn't done well against Lawrence Free State recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Firebirds. This was payback for the Lancers, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-16.

Among those leading the charge was Jessie Hill, who had 15 digs and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Hill wasn't the only good server: Shawnee Mission East was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrence Free State only served six aces.

Shawnee Mission East's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Lawrence Free State, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-6.
