Basketball Recap: Blackman Piles Up the Points Against Columbia Central

Blackman lost to Columbia Central back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Blackman Blaze claimed a resounding 72-32 victory over the Columbia Central Lions. That looming 72-32 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blaze yet this season.

Blackman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carrington Jackson, who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Layla Hall, who went 7 of 11 en route to 14 points.

Blackman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Blackman is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Columbia Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Giles County will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Columbia Central surely won't give up without a fight.
