Baseball Recap: Mercer Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mercer and Lakeview squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Mercer had to settle for second. They fell 6-1 to the Sailors. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 6-5 to the Sailors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mercer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aedan Ryhal, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Mercer and nudges their season record down to 11-6. As for Lakeview, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Mercer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakeview, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 1-0 loss against Mercyhurst Prep on the 23rd.
