Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for East Central

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but East Central had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Johnson Jaguars. The win was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Isabella Hernandez, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two RBI and one run. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marissa Delgado, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

East Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in four consecutive games.

East Central's record is now 23-11. As for Johnson, their loss dropped their record down to 28-6-1.

East Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Jaguars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
