Basketball Recap: North Mac Comes Up Short

North Mac was the 50-47 winner over Hillsboro when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The North Mac Panthers took a 55-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hillsboro Hiltoppers on Tuesday.

It was another big night for Nathan Matoush, who posted 21 points for Hillsboro. Matoush's evening made it 16 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Tony White was another key player, putting up 12 points.

North Mac's loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Hillsboro, they pushed their record up to 11-15 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Mac will take on Gillespie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hillsboro, they will square off against Pana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hillsboro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.
