Baseball Recap: Eustis Takes a Loss

Eustis was the 1-0 winner over The Villages Charter when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Buffalo by a score of 6-5 on Monday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ethan Jackson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Anthony Castiglione, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Eustis' record now sits at 12-11. As for The Villages Charter, their record is now 13-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eustis will welcome Pine Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Ridge has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.53 runs per game on average), something Eustis will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for The Villages Charter, they will host First Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.65 runs per game on average), something the Buffalo will no doubt try to take advantage of.
