Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Comes Up Short

Covenant Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Wewahitchka Gators, falling 66-26. Covenant Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-11.

Wewahitchka was led to victory by Jayvyn Walker and Kaden Brooks. Walker went 7 for 12 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds, while Brooks went 7 of 17 on his way to 19 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Brooks a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhemy Patrick, who posted nine points and four steals.

Covenant Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Wewahitchka, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Covenant Christian will venture away from home to face off against West Florida Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wewahitchka, they will welcome Poplar Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
