Baseball Recap: Roy Comes Up Short

Roy had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 12-17 to make it four. They fell just short of the West Jordan Jaguars by a score of 8-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 on Wednesday.

Roy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Hogge, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Another was Logan Vorwaller, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

As for West Jordan, the win (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 20-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

On West Jordan's side, Blake Difrancesco was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Brendan Wood was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Roy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Jordan, they will square off against Pleasant Grove at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Jaguars 3.9, the Vikings 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
