Preview: Brentwood School Eagles vs. Highland Bulldogs
Brentwood School has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Highland Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Brentwood School had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against Fountain Valley as Brentwood School made off with a 20-0 victory. Brentwood School might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Boone Lourd, who rushed for 127 yards on only six carries, and also threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns. Lourd was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. Dylan Karz also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Highland had just enough and edged San Dimas out 20-18 on Friday.
Brentwood School has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points per game. As for Highland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
