Soccer Recap: Lathrop Finds Playoff Glory Versus Venture Academy

It's playoff time, and Lathrop had no trouble coming through when it counted. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lathrop Spartans who were credited with the victory on Friday. The Lathrop Spartans got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Venture Academy Mustangs's four. The Spartans' winning goal came courtesy of Andres Garcia.

Lathrop has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Venture Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.

Lathrop has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Liberty Ranch on the 18th. Venture Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
