Softball Recap: Elberta's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Elberta waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs as they made off with a 17-0 win. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 13-2 win on Tuesday.

Destiny Garcia made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Ava Sanks was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lynleigh May, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Elberta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .448 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Elberta's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-22-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for UMS-Wright Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

As of now, neither Elberta nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
