Preview: North Surry Greyhounds vs. Forbush Falcons
North Surry is 8-2 against the Falcons since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The North Surry Greyhounds will be playing at home against the Forbush Falcons at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in North Surry's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while the Falcons have been banged up by 19 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Even though East Surry scored an imposing 70 points on Tuesday, North Surry still came out on top. North Surry walked away with a 77-70 victory over the Cardinals. Given North Surry's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Cardinals are ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Julius Brintle was a one-man wrecking crew for North Surry as he scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brintle has scored all season. Anthony Williams was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Forbush pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-57 bruising from West Wilkes.
North Surry's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Forbush, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.
Everything came up roses for North Surry against the Falcons in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 88-54 victory. Does North Surry have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
