Basketball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 98-72 to the Harvey Red Raiders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Dragons still had to take the loss.

Harvey's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deontae Ware, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance also gave Ware a new career-high in assists (four). Eryck McClain was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Harvey, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-14 record this season.

Looking ahead, Lakeside will head out to take on Pymatuning Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harvey, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kirtland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Harvey's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.
