Volleyball Recap: Plainfield South Cougars vs. Schaumburg Saxons
The Plainfield South Cougars didn't have quite enough to beat the Schaumburg Saxons on Wednesday and fell 2-1. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Plainfield South started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 25-18.
Their offense was headlined by Papaa Adansi-Ofori and Logan Warkentien, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Alexander Venes and his 18 assists. Finally, Adansi-Ofori was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.
Plainfield South's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Schaumburg, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
