Soccer Game Preview: Madison vs. South Dearborn

The Madison Cubs will take on the South Dearborn Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Madison will be strutting in after a victory while South Dearborn will be coming in after a loss.

Madison's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Rock Creek Academy 3-0. Considering Madison have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, South Dearborn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Switzerland County.

The win made it two in a row for Madison and bumps their season record up to 9-3-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for South Dearborn, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10-1.

Madison came out on top in a nail-biter against South Dearborn when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cubs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
