Softball Recap: Mcmahon Has No Trouble Against Greenwich

McMahon lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Greenwich, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's match. The Senators put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 10-2 win on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Senators as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Caroline Sattler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 12 hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alexa Smith, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Sami Horton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

McMahon's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Greenwich, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

McMahon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
