If Grovetown wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Newton, they should've done a better job of containing Kevin Hartsfield. The Rams breezed past the Warriors to the tune of 30-0 on Friday for which the team can thank Hartsfield, who rushed for 100 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. He is becoming a predictor of Newton's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

Newton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Grovetown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newton will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Grovetown, they will venture away from home to square off against Archer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
