Basketball Game Preview: Yamhill-Carlton Tigers vs. Rainier Columbians

The Yamhill-Carlton Tigers will face off against the Rainier Columbians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Yamhill-Carlton and six for Rainier.

Yamhill-Carlton came up short against Warrenton on Thursday, falling 60-40. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Warriors are ranked 91st).

Meanwhile, Rainier was beaten by Corbett 62-35 on Thursday.

Rainier's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Yamhill-Carlton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Everything came up roses for Yamhill-Carlton against Rainier in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 73-41 victory. Does Yamhill-Carlton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rainier turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
