Basketball Game Preview: Immanuel Lutheran Trojans vs. First Baptist Crusaders

The Immanuel Lutheran Trojans will challenge the First Baptist Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. First Baptist took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Immanuel Lutheran, who comes in off a win.

Immanuel Lutheran is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home back in January. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lake Region Christian 70-42. The Trojans' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Meanwhile, First Baptist has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 27.84 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Community Christian. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with Community Christian recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Immanuel Lutheran will have to contain Lydia Wynja as she made an impact in First Baptist's last game. She dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 40.4% of First Baptist's points, marking the 14th time in a row Wynja has posted more than a third of the team's points. Keira Wynja was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, First Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.
