Soccer Game Preview: Gateway vs. Central Catholic

The Gateway Gators will head out to take on the Central Catholic Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Gateway fell victim to Norwin and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Gateway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Norwin are ranked 54th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Catholic). They put the hurt on Hempfield Area with a sharp 8-1 win on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Central Catholic needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 8-3-2. As for Gateway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
