Basketball Recap: Monroe Redhawks vs. Forest Hills Yellow Jackets

Monroe's game on Friday was all tied up 37-37 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost 77-53 to the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Redhawks have suffered against the Yellow Jackets since February 17, 2022.

Despite the loss, Monroe saw an underclassman step up: freshman Janiyah Boyd almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine boards. Looking ahead, Monroe will square off against Central Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroe is facing Central Academy at the right time seeing as Central Academy is stuck on a 21-game losing streak. Forest Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
