Basketball Recap: Gillion Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gillion Academy put another one in the bag on Sunday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Blue Ridge Raiders by a score of 57-46.

Gillion Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcis Ponder, who shot 83% from the field en route to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and five blocks. Ponder is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Willie Burnett Iii, who posted 13 points.

Gillion Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Gillion Academy has already played their next game, a 79-62 win against Hargrave Military Academy on the 26th. As for Blue Ridge, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Pocono at 5:30 p.m. on November 25.
