Recap: James Wood Colonels vs. Liberty Eagles
The James Wood Colonels fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Liberty Eagles on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 35-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. James Wood lost against Liberty in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-20 score last time.
Austin Mawyer was his usual excellent self, throwing for 424 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt. Mawyer is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played.
James Wood now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 5-5.
James Wood will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Millbrook at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
