Baseball Recap: Jeannette Comes Up Short

After flying high against Steel Valley last Thursday, Jeannette came back down to earth. The Jayhawks fell 3-0 to the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes on Wednesday. The Jayhawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Mighty Mikes from their previous meeting back in May of 2019.

Noah Rattigan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double. Kenny Himes also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Jeannette's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Carmichaels, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season.

Jeannette has already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Washington on the 10th. As for Carmichaels, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-5 defeat against Greensburg Central Catholic on the 14th.
