Basketball Recap: Lincoln Park Takes a Loss

Lincoln Park played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Crane Medical Cougars 58-16. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Cougars are ranked 64th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crane Medical to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chrishawnda Wright, who posted ten points. ZaNylah Moaton was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Lincoln Park's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4. As for Crane Medical, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

Lincoln Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 24-23 defeat against Chicago Hope Academy on the 19th. As for Crane Medical, they will take on Proviso East in a tournament on December 26th. Crane Medical's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so Proviso East's offense will have their work cut out for them.
