Baseball Recap: Camden Wins Going Away Against Richland Northeast

Camden barely beat Richland Northeast the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Cavaliers 14-1 on Tuesday. The game marked the Bulldogs' most dominant victory of the season.

Thomas Bishop was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bishop was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dustin Bixby, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Camden: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Chandler Johnson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Camden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Richland Northeast only posted a batting average of .125.

Camden's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-11. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Richland Northeast, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Camden will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cavaliers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
