Softball Recap: Boyertown Extends Winning Streak to Five

Boyertown waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Upper Perkiomen Indians as they made off with a 12-5 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Kyra Neiswender made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

In other batting news, Rielynn Carey was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Hayden Reifsnyder also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Boyertown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Boyertown's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Upper Perkiomen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boyertown will welcome Perkiomen Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Perkiomen Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Boyertown's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Upper Perkiomen, they will face off against Methacton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Methacton will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Upper Perkiomen surely won't give up without a fight.
