Baseball Recap: Seeger Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Newton on Monday, Seeger came back down to earth. The Patriots lost 15-6 to the Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost four in a row.

Seeger saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Grimmett, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Grimmett is becoming a predictor of the Patriots' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 3-1 (and 4-10 when he doesn't). Jarrett Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Seeger's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seeger will face off against Covington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, they will square off against Salt Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
