Softball Recap: Cambridge Comes Up Short

The Cambridge Bobcats didn't have quite enough to beat the Fort Frye Cadets on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Miranda Cole was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Kristen Ayres also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Cambridge has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Fort Frye, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cambridge will venture away from home to take on Marietta at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Fort Frye, they will challenge Zanesville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
