Basketball Recap: Elk Grove Takes a Loss

Elk Grove was the 57-39 winner over Maine West when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Elk Grove Grenadiers came up short against the Maine West Warriors on Tuesday, falling 70-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Grenadiers have suffered against the Warriors since December 12, 2017.

Elk Grove's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Maine West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Elk Grove will welcome Buffalo Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maine West, they are taking a road trip to challenge Highland Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
