Lowry is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will be playing at home against the Elko Indians at 3:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Lowry is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Hug with a sharp 18-5 victory on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Buckaroos in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won six in a row.
Michael Heikkila and Connor Peterson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Heikkila pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Peterson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Heikkila scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Peterson scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Peterson is becoming a predictor of Lowry's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
