Softball Recap: Alhambra Takes a Loss

Alhambra had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-18 to make it five. They lost 15-0 to the Mark Keppel Aztecs. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Moors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Mark Keppel, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6. The result was nothing new for the Aztecs, who have now won 12 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Mark Keppel's part, Robyn Guitron was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Guitron has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Mark Keppel got a massive performance out of Avigail Navarro, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Aaliyah Plasentillo also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

As of now, neither Alhambra nor Mark Keppel have any future games scheduled.
