Volleyball Recap: Coral Reef Gets the Win

Coral Reef won the last time they faced Southwest and things went their way on Saturday too. The Barracudas came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Barracudas have posted since October 15, 2024.

Natalia Carrio was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 14 digs and two assists. Those 14 digs gave her a new career-high.

Southwest's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabela Perez, who had nine digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Emily Lopez, who had 13 digs and three assists.

Coral Reef's record is now 5-6. As for Southwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Coral Reef wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against TERRA Environmental on the 16th. As for Southwest, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Palmetto on the 16th.
