Basketball Game Preview: Faith Lutheran Crusaders vs. Basic Wolves

The Faith Lutheran Crusaders will take on the Basic Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Faith Lutheran will be strutting in after a win while Basic will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Faith Lutheran was fully in charge, breezing past Sunrise Mountain 74-27. That 47 point margin sets a new team best for the Crusaders this season.

Meanwhile, Basic unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They had to suffer through a 79-48 loss at the hands of Sierra Vista. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Mountain Lions are ranked third).

Faith Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Basic, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Faith Lutheran didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Basic in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Basic's Amare Oba, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Faith Lutheran still be able to contain Oba? There's only one way to find out.
