Baseball Recap: Palm Beach Central Finds Home Field Redemption Against West Boca Raton

There's no place like home for Palm Beach Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They had just enough and edged out the West Boca Raton Bulls 5-4 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Broncos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Charlie Houd looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Palm Beach Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabrian Diaz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Diaz has posted since back in April of 2024. Slade Wayne also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Palm Beach Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. West Boca Raton's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Palm Beach Central will head out to take on Leonard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Palm Beach Central is facing Leonard at the right time seeing as Leonard is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for West Boca Raton, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against American Heritage at 6:30 p.m.
