Preview: Sharon-Mutual Trojans vs. Turpin Cardinals
Sharon-Mutual is 0-3 against Turpin since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Sharon-Mutual Trojans' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Turpin Cardinals at 1:45 p.m. on January 18th. Sharon-Mutual will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 437th, while Turpin is ranked 166th).
Last Saturday, Sharon-Mutual was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-41 to Geary.
In what's become a running theme this season, Turpin gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Forgan on the road to the tune of 60-9. That looming 60-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Turpin yet this season.
Gunner Post was his usual excellent self, scoring 13 points. Another player making a difference was Carson Peters, who scored ten points.
Sharon-Mutual's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-9. As for Turpin, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Sharon-Mutual came up short against Turpin in their previous meeting back in January of 2017, falling 53-48. Can Sharon-Mutual avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
