Preview: Linden Lions vs. Weston Ranch Cougars
The Linden Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Weston Ranch Cougars at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Linden can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Stagg 35-0 on the road. The win was just what Linden needed coming off of a 40-14 defeat in their prior match.
Landen Ly was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Ly's longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards. Jay Reams got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Weston Ranch fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They claimed a resounding 41-8 win over Franklin at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-0.
Weston Ranch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jose Aguilar out in front who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 214 yards and a touchdown on only 19 passes. Another player making a difference was Juju Sasser, who picked up 154 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Linden to 7-2 and Weston Ranch to 4-5.
