Baseball Game Preview: East Juniata Tigers vs. Line Mountain Eagles

The East Juniata Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Line Mountain Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when East Juniata and Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Tigers came up short against the WolfPack, falling 10-2.

Trent Price was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Camden Feltman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Line Mountain, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Upper Dauphin Area 11-10 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the game before.

Line Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for East Juniata, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

East Juniata took their win against Line Mountain in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
