Soccer Game Preview: Western Hills vs. Castleberry

Western Hills is 0-6 against Castleberry since February of 2019 but things could change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Western Hills take on Castleberry at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Western Hills is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Southwest on Friday. Western Hills fell 3-1 to Southwest.

Meanwhile, Castleberry fell victim to Brownwood and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against Brownwood, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Castleberry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 571st, while Brownwood is ranked 245th).

Castleberry has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-3 record this season. Western Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Western Hills suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Castleberry in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Western Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
