If King wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Murrieta Valley, they should've done a better job of containing Jeremiah Watson. The Nighthawks took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-7 win over the Wolves thanks in part to Watson, who rushed for 187 yards and four scores on only seven carries, and also caught one TD. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 118.8 rushing yards per game.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Murrieta Valley, adding 19 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jacob Taddi, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.

The victory made it two in a row for Murrieta Valley and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 13 points in those games. As for King, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Murrieta Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 26-14 victory against San Clemente on the 26th. As for King, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Santiago at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The contest will give the Wolves their first taste of in-conference action this season.
