Volleyball Recap: Columbine Extends Home Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Columbine hadn't done well against Arapahoe recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Rebels blew past the Warriors 3-0. The Rebels were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Warriors, so the Rebels were just returning the favor.

While Columbine won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 25-21.

Sofia Screaton paced Columbine's offense, picking up 15 kills. Screaton got some help from Maddie Lynett and her 19 assists. Screaton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Arapahoe's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cecelie Franklin, who had nine digs and one assist, and Addie Loughner, who had 12 assists and eight digs.

Columbine pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Arapahoe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Columbine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Denver East on the 17th. As for Arapahoe, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Cherokee Trail on the 16th.
