Volleyball Game Preview: Hinsdale South Hornets vs. Metea Valley Mustangs

The Hinsdale South Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Metea Valley Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hinsdale South will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Monday, Hinsdale South was able to grind out a solid win over Addison Trail, taking the game 2-0.

Hinsdale South easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Metea Valley can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Naperville Central.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (67-66) Metea Valley actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 16-25, 25-20.

Metea Valley now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Hinsdale South, their win bumped their record up to 20-11.

Hinsdale South skirted past Metea Valley 2-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
