Mt. Vernon posted their closest win since May 28th on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Clear Creek-Amana Clippers 11-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-0 on Monday.

The victory made it two in a row for Mt. Vernon and bumps their season record up to 10-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Clear Creek-Amana, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.
